Meaning of Eid Fitr Pray

Eid Fitr Pray, also known as Salat al-Eid, is a special congregational prayer performed by Muslims on the morning of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the month-long fasting period of Ramadan. It is a joyful and festive occasion, where Muslims gather together in large numbers, usually in open spaces or mosques, to offer their prayers and exchange greetings.

The Eid Fitr Pray is usually performed after sunrise, and consists of two units (rak’ahs) of prayer, with six additional Takbirs (the Arabic phrase Allahu Akbar, meaning “God is Great”) recited during the prayer. The prayer is led by an imam, and the congregation follows his movements, including standing, bowing, and prostrating.

After the prayer, it is customary for Muslims to exchange greetings and embrace each other, congratulating one another on the completion of Ramadan and the arrival of Eid al-Fitr. This is known as “Eid Mubarak” or “Happy Eid”.

In addition to the prayer, Eid al-Fitr is also a time for giving charity, visiting friends and family, and enjoying festive foods and drinks. The holiday serves as a reminder of the importance of self-discipline, compassion, and community, and is an opportunity for Muslims to renew their faith and strengthen their bonds with one another.
