Day 1Jakarta

“Selamat Datang”! Your Guide is there to greet you upon your arrival at the airport and welcomes you in Indonesian. You will then go directly to your hotel in the city of Jakarta, where your trip to Indonesia begins. After dropping off your belongings, relax from your hours of flying at your hotelans. In the evening, why not enjoy a delicious Gudeg, made with jackfruit cooked in coconut milk. Night at the hotel Yogyakarta

Day 2Jakarta

Familiarize yourself with the city on a full-day tour with your expert local leader. Take in Sunda Kelapa port – where the Dutch first landed, temple-filled Chinatown and the old town of Batavia. Wander about Fatahillah Square and visit a Chinese mansion (Chandra Naya) and gain an insight into the beautiful Peranakan architecture. Enjoy lunch at a Chinese restaurant that has been serving some of the city’s best and most authentic food for more than a century. Learn the story behind the restaurant and its cuisine during an exclusive storytelling session with the owner. After lunch, explore the religious side of the city at Cathedral Church and Istiqlal Mosque – the largest mosque in Southeast Asia.

Day 3Yogyakarta

Catch an early morning train to Yogyakarta this morning and drop your bags at the hotel, then travel to Prambanan – an ancient 10th-century Hindu temple on the outskirts of Yogyakarta. This magnificent World Heritage-listed site is the largest Hindu complex in Java. Set in a tranquil park, it is the perfect spot to stroll along the river and take in the sunset. Have your camera ready, as you’re sure to get some incredible shots. This evening, join your group for a performance of the epic Ramayana ballet and dine on delicious regional dishes over dinner.

Day 4Yogyakarta

This morning after breakfast, ride a pedicab to a local market and maybe pick up some small bites or souvenirs. Discover the heritage of Kota Gede – renowned for its exceptional silver art and delectable cuisine. Then, dive into the ancient art of Batik with a hands-on class in a local village – you’ll learn how to draw with wax on cloth and create a masterpiece to take home. Tonight, try some local cuisine at an exclusive dinner at Gadjah Wong, which sits alongside the Gadjah Wong River.

Day 5Yogyakarta

This morning, get up at dawn to watch the sunrise from the top of Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world. Dating from the 8th century, its architecture, the precision of its bas-reliefs, its countless Buddhas and its enormous bells make it a must-see in Indonesia. You then return to the center of Yogyakarta city for your lunch at a local restaurant. Then, you visit the Kraton, the Sultan’s palace and the Taman Sari known as “the water tower”. You enjoy strolling and getting lost in the small surrounding streets, punctuated by numerous artists’ houses and local craft shops. Night at the hotel.

Day 6Seloliman Nature Reserve

Travel by train (approximately 4.5 hours) before transferring on a minivan (approximately 1 hour) to Seloliman Nature Reserve. The peaceful Seloliman Nature Reserve is situated on the slopes of the sacred volcano of Mt Penanggungan. Meet some of the volunteers working at the Seloliman Environmental Education Center and eat delicious, locally grown organic produce cooked by their staff. The center’s accommodation is atmospheric, even with open-air bathrooms built in harmony with the surrounding forest, so take this opportunity to relax. This is a beautiful spot to appreciate nature – be sure to sit under the stars tonight and take in the ambiance of what’s around.

Day 7Seloliman Nature Reserve – Mt Bromo

Join reserve staff on a walk around the reserve, learning about the local environment and the Javanese tradition of herbal medicine (approximately 2.5 hours). You’ll gain an insight into the region’s flora and fauna, traditional farming methods, rice production and the mini hydroelectricity plant. Finish up with a traditional jamu demonstration and a tasting of this Javanese herbal medicine. Continue on to Mt Bromo – the timeless homeland of the Tenggerese (approximately 4 hours). The still-active volcano – standing at 2329 metres – is the most well-known of the Tengger massif. This region is also the homeland of the Tenggerese and the steep, cultivated hills of the Tengger Valley. Retire early tonight in preparation for tomorrow’s early start.

Day 8Bromo Volcano - Kalibaru

Sunrise and ascent of Mount Bromo

Your early start today (around 3 am) will be well worth it; trust us. First, drive to a lookout point in jeeps for sunrise over the sea of sands. If the weather is clear, the sunrise over this eerie sea of volcanoes is an unforgettable experience. Afterwards descend in your jeep to the sea of sands and climb up to the volcano crater to take a peek inside. The ascent is not too difficult (approximately 45 minutes), but it can be very cold, so don’t forget to bring extra layers of clothing. It’s also worth bringing a scarf to cover your nose and mouth, as it can get dusty. Return to the hotel to freshen up and then depart midmorning to Kalibaru in a private minivan (approximately 5.5 hours). You’ll stop for lunch en route, then arrive in the afternoon, with time to relax by the pool or perhaps indulge in a local massage.

Day 9Kalibaru – Pemuteran

Head out early in the morning to tour nearby coffee, cocoa and rubber plantations. You’ll see how rubber is processed, how coffee is dried, and, if there’s time, how cocoa is fermented. Before you set off, enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea and snack on fried banana. Travel by minibus to the far eastern end of Java – Gilimanuk (approximately 3 hours). There is often a lot of heavy traffic on this stretch of road as it’s the main entry point for Bali, so there may be some delays. Next you’ll board a ferry across the Java Strait (approximately 1 hour), before boarding another minibus for a journey along the west coast of Bali (approximately 1 hour). Travel on to Pemuteran – your destination for the next two nights.

Day 10Pemuteran

First free day on the island of the gods

Today, enjoy a free day as you wish. Pemuteran is renowned worldwide for its snorkeling and diving on the small island of Menjangan, not far from the coast. So, grab your masks and snorkel! If you are more in a lazy mood, take the opportunity to relax on the beach or by the pool. It’s also the time for you to try a Balinese massage, a pure moment of relaxation for body and mind. For the more curious, you can explore the turtle nursery and the bay’s ecological program which consists of a vast coral rehabilitation project. Night at the hotel.

Day 11Pemuteran - Munduk

Balinese mountains and waterfalls

This morning, you venture on small roads that climb and wind in the heart of the Balinese lands, between rice fields and tropical nature. Along the way, bathe in the sulfur-laden Air Panas Banjar spring, whose warm water springs from the mouths of sculpted nadas in three different pools. You then continue your journey towards Munduk, an old mountain station, characterized by its coffee, vanilla and clove plantations which perfume the fresh and pure air. Here, there’s nothing like venturing into the lush jungle that surrounds the village towards magnificent waterfalls nestled in the heart of nature. Night at the hotel.

and see how the region’s farmers have tended the land for centuries, still using traditional water buffalo ploughs. Climb a little higher and pass through clove and coffee plantations and stop at a local warung to try some local coffee (approximately 2.5 hours total). Visit the local village of Pringgasela to learn traditional weaving and enjoy a delicious Sasak feast. In the afternoon, return to the hotel then travel to Labuhan Pandan on the east coast of Lombok. This remote beachside location is lesser visited by tourists but is a beautiful stretch of coastline. Tonight you’ll stay in bungalow accommodation amid the peace and quiet of the secluded east coast.

Day 12Munduk - Ubud

The unmissable rice fields of Jatiluwih

After your breakfast at the hotel, you hit the road again to climb the mountainside and take the magnificent lake route, lined with vegetable and flower crops and offering breathtaking views. In this delightful landscape nestles the large, peaceful lake of Danau Bratan, where you contemplate a remarkable temple on the water, equipped with an elegant meru, a pagoda which rises eleven levels. Then, cross the Jatiluwih rice fields, listed by UNESCO for their unique irrigation system in the world. Before returning to Ubud for the night, you visit the Batukaru temple, in perfect harmony with nature and the surrounding mountain of the same name.

Day 13Ubud

Start the day with a guided walking tour around Ubud with your local leader (about 2.5 hours). Gain an insight into daily village life as you pass lush rice fields, an alang alang valley (type of wild grass used to make the roof of traditional buildings) and stop by a Balinese home for coffee and experience the traditional Balinese offering. The tour ends in central Ubud, where you’ll have time to explore the many cafes, galleries and shops on your own. In the evening, sit down and enjoy a traditional Kecak dance performance. Driven not by musical instruments, but by human chanting, this fascinating theatrical performance is considered a highlight by many.

SIC (Seat in Coach) means we will combine you with other guests with the same departure, so costs will be lower compared to a Private Tour

Private Tours
This is a tour package designed specifically for you personally.

This package consists of: hotel, activity tour with a special car for you with a driver (without a guide), as well as private pick-up*.

Escorted Tour
