Paliken Hills, hearing a similar name, our memory will assume the overseas name, but make no mistake this tourist destination is located in Pangandaran Regency. This object is being developed into a special tourist spot that has its features in line with the efforts of the Government of Pangandaran Regency, whose territory has quite a variety of tourism potential. Apart from being well known for its beach tourism area, the district government and the West Java provincial government are currently intensively opening several natural tourist spots in Pangandaran. The tourist destination of Paliken Village, Pasir Geulis Village, Padaherang District, Pangandaran Regency is about 43 kilometers from the center of Pangandaran City with fairly good road accessibility that can be passed by two or four-wheeled vehicles.
This tourist attraction is inseparable from the legend narrative of the local people. In ancient times, Paliken Hills was the place to control the war strategy to seize the Galuh Pangauban kingdom which was controlled by the Kalasamudra Soldiers (Bajo). It is said that before going to war against the Bajo pirates in this place, Dewi Samboja chose a war leader by holding a contest. With Dewi Samboja’s supernatural power, she sticks a stick into the ground and anyone who can pull out the stick can become a warlord. And of the many young men who chose to fight, only one person could pull out the stick. The young man who chose to fight was named Sawung Galing. It turned out that he was the Patih of the Galuh Kingdom who was sent by Maharaja Sanghyang Cipta to look for Dewi Samboja. The surface of the soil used to stick the stick was also uprooted. That moment was then immortalized until now as the name of the place, namely Paliken, and the place where the stick was pulled out in the contest was named the Paliken Site.

The beauty of nature is the main attraction of the Paliken Hills area, from the height of the hill you can clearly see the Pangandaran, Banjar and Ciamis areas as well as several areas in the Province of Central Java.
