Santirah – Located in Karang Mukti Hamlet, Selasari Village, Kec. Parigi Kab. Pangandaran is approximately 1.5 hours drive from the City Center of Kab. Pangandaran by using a private car vehicle. January 2014, to be exact, the Santirah River Tubing Tour was published for tourists. Santirah River Tubing Tourism is the most visited and new tourist attraction in Pangandaran Regency.
According to the stories of community leaders, Santirah is the origin of the name Kembang Desa, which many men fight over because of the beauty and charm of her face. Santirah is said to have lived in Karangmukti Village, Selasari Village, in short, because of the beautiful gift she has, many men intend to have her, because many men are fighting over her, especially Nyi Santirah at that time was a Ronggeng Gunung dancer (Ibing Sunda Art) who was popular at that time, so many men fought over santirah, since santirah’s popularity was increasingly popular among dancers at that time.
Day by day, more and more problems occurred in his own area which caused Santirah’s lover named Asep Ireng to feel disturbed and jealous by the many temptations that came from men who wanted to get Nyi Santirah’s love. Until one day Asep Ireng had a bad idea, he wanted to kill Nyi Santirah because the men were hurt by the men who often teased her lover. And in the end the plan came true and became a sad story for a village flower named Santirah who had to lose his life at the hands of his lover, it is said that Santirah’s body was dumped in the river which is now the most visited tourist spot every day.
Santirah has two mainstay activities that can be enjoyed by visitors (tourists) for a vacation in Santirah, Body Rafting and River Tubing are the activities that suck the most. Visitors flock to Santirah River Tubing in droves. Now, Santirah has changed its story to become a new miracle in the world of tourism, especially in Pangandaran district, now Santirah has become a new tourist destination that is visited by many tourists, both local tourists and foreign tourists, now Santirah is able to compete with its predecessor tours, thanks to the beauty of the typical natural panorama of the village, the river which is the headwaters of the Citumang river with natural wonders which includes waterfalls, exotic caves with varying lengths, rapids to test the adrenaline, making visitors even more curious to come for a trip to Santirah River Tubing.
River Tubing, is a natural activity that slides freely on the surface of river water that has a light current.
