After the 1883 eruption, Krakatoa emerged in 1927 from the ancient caldera of Krakatoa which is still active and continues to increase in height at a rate of 20 inches per month. Consisting of Panjang, Sertung and Rakata Islands, the Krakatau Islands have an attraction for tourists, especially researchers as natural laboratories for various scientific disciplines (Geology, Conservation, Biology, Volcanology). Besides the activities of Child of Krakatoa, at sunset it is a very interesting natural panorama to watch. You don’t need a lot of climbing because it’s only light tracking on black sand, just use light and comfortable footwear. Apart from that, in these islands you can find interesting places for swimming/snorkeling, diving and fishing.
