“The enchantment of the flow of the Cijulang river that penetrates the cave is decorated with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites and eternal rain.”

Green Canyon was initially named by the local community Cukang Taneuh which means land bridge, because in this place there is a ±3 meter wide land bridge that was formed naturally through natural processes so that it connected the two river cliffs. The name Green Canyon  was first popularized by a tourist named Bill Jhon. At that time he was having an adventure down the Cijulang river seeing an amazing view that seemed to remind him of a canyon in the Grand Canyon, Arizona, United States of America which divides the Colorado river.

Green Canyon is a natural tour in the form of a river that is flanked by two rocky hills that penetrate the cave. The mouth of the cave is decorated with splashing water droplets that resemble eternal rain which gives the impression of the perfection of nature’s beauty.

This tourist destination, which is located in Kertayasa Village, Cijulang District, Pangandaran Regency, has several tourist attractions including Cukang Taneuh Cave, Central Stone, Payung Stone and Princess Bath. Green Canyon offers tourism activities ranging from boating for tourists who just want to just enjoy the natural scenery, swimming, body rafting, diving into the water and exploring cliffs for tourists who like adrenaline-pumping challenges.

Access to Green Canyon is relatively easy, tourists can use public transportation from the Pangandaran terminal to the Cijulang terminal which is ± 27 km which can be reached in about ± 40 minutes by car. After that, from the Cijulang terminal, tourists can use a motorcycle taxi or rent a car to go to Ciseureuh Pier, about ± 5 minutes. Public transportation from the Pangandaran terminal to Cijulang starts operating from 05.00 WIB – 19.00 WIB and vice versa from the direction of the Cijulang terminal to the Pangandaran terminal starts operating from 05.00 WIB – 16.00 WIB.

The right time to visit Green Canyon is the dry season, because when the rainy season falls, the river’s water level will rise. Green Canyon is open every day from 08.00 WIB – 16.00 WIB, except Friday it opens at 13.00 WIB – 16.00 WIB.

Supporting facilities at Green Canyon include boat docks, parking lots, information centers, waiting rooms, toilets, prayer rooms, food and beverage stalls, souvenir shops, seafood restaurants and hotels.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the Green Canyon tourist destination.
