Mount Kelud is a volcano that is already popular as a tourist destination. Especially for residents of Kediri, Blitar, and surrounding areas. This mountain does have a tempting charm for climbing. In addition, this mountain also offers a variety of other recreational experiences that are suitable for families. Mount Kelud is about 1,731 meters above sea level and has a crater that was formed during an eruption in 2014. This mountain has three peaks, namely Kelud Peak, Sumbing, and Gajahmungkur.
The eruption in 2014 was apparently powerful enough to change some of its appearance. Now, there is a crater at its peak. This crater is then the main attraction. Both tourists and climbers are vying to the top to witness its splendor firsthand. The crater at the top of Mount Kelud forms a lake and the crater crater has a high sulfur content. The panorama of this crater can be seen in its entirety from Kelud Peak. Many juxtapose its beauty with Lake Kelimutu and the crater at Tangkuban Perahu. The sulfur content apparently affects the appearance of the crater so that it is green.
During the day, when exposed to sunlight, the surface of the crater will be yellowish. This exotic scenery is the target of tourists and climbers. Besides the crater, there are many other attractions of this volcano. Tourist spots are deliberately established to restore the glory of Mount Kelud as a tourism destination, one of which is the Cleft Cliff. Cleft Cliff or Cleft Peak is one of the three highest points of Mount Kelud. This cliff looks like a canine tooth with a sharp tip. On the other hand, the cliff section is blunt and rounded.
This cliff consists of an arrangement of large rocks. Even though they look solid, these rocks are actually very fragile and break easily. Therefore, tourists are not allowed to be too close to the cliff location. When tourists go to Mount Kelud, you will pass the Mystery Road. This road is included in the tourist area whose access is through Kediri. So, tourists who will go to the parking bag will definitely pass it. Called the Mystery Path because there is a strangeness. This road looks like an uphill road. However, there is a uniqueness if tourists put objects that can roll on the road surface. The object will roll and move forward as if attracted by an invisible force.
Actually, this road is a sloping road that creates an illusion of the eye. Travelers who bring vehicles are recommended to turn off the engine here. You will see the vehicle as if moving up by itself.

For those who want to climb, registration can be done every day from 06.00 – 23.00 WIB. Meanwhile, Mount Kelud tourism is open every day from 08.00 – 16.30 WIB.
The location of Mount Kelud is in three districts, namely Blitar, Kediri, and Malang. The most popular climbing base camps are located in Tulungrejo and Karangrejo in Blitar Regency. Just follow the straight path from this park to get to the tourist area on the slopes of Mount Kelud.
